Providenciales is the resort hub of Turks and Caicos, built almost entirely around Grace Bay's calm, reef-protected beach. Most of the best restaurants, bars and hotels sit within a short drive of each other along Grace Bay Road, making a rental car or reliable taxi service more useful here than in most Caribbean destinations. The barrier reef just offshore keeps the water flat and clear for snorkelling straight from the beach, and dry, sunny weather runs for most of the year outside the late-summer hurricane window.

Best time to visit
December to April brings the driest, sunniest weather and the biggest crowds and prices; May and June offer a strong balance of good weather and value, while the September to November hurricane season carries storm risk but the lowest rates.
Getting in
Providenciales International Airport (PLS) receives direct flights from several US East Coast cities, Toronto and London. Grace Bay resorts are a 10 to 20 minute taxi or resort shuttle ride from the airport.
Getting around
A rental car is the easiest way to reach Blue Hills restaurants, Chalk Sound and Provo Golf Club beyond walking distance of your resort; taxis are metered but pricier than driving yourself. Grace Bay Road itself is walkable between many hotels, restaurants and bars.
What it costs
A mid-range hotel room runs $300 to $600 a night in peak season, dinner for two at a good restaurant costs $100 to $200, and a rental car runs roughly $50 to $80 a day.

- The quieter western end of the beach, home to Wymara and Marine Room, a short walk or drive from central Grace Bay.

- A secluded, undeveloped stretch of coast home to Amanyara, best for travellers prioritising privacy over walkable dining.
- Turtle Cove
- A marina-side area near Grace Bay's north end, convenient for boat charters and Smith's Reef snorkelling.
Traveller tips
- US dollars are the official currency, so no exchange is needed for US travellers.
- Book Grace Bay dinner reservations and rental cars ahead during the December to April peak.
- Reef-safe sunscreen is required at some resorts and recommended everywhere to protect the barrier reef.
- Tipping 15% is standard at restaurants; some add a service charge automatically, so check the bill.
- Bring cash for smaller Blue Hills spots like Da Conch Shack, though most Grace Bay venues take cards.
- Watch the hurricane season forecast if travelling September through November and consider travel insurance.
