Berlin This Week: Oct 23–29, 2026

Berlin's week in one guide: three-Michelin-star date nights and Kreuzberg brunch, aperitivo hour in Mitte, German stand-up at Quatsch, Sarah Connor and Hans Zimmer at the Uber Arena, a 31-hour Tresor party, the Brandenburg Gate's LED switch — plus Crackers' private dining room and the Adlon, our hotel of the week.

Berlin This Week: Oct 23–29, 2026

Berlin is booking, brunching, laughing, singing, networking and dancing this week. Here is the Key2 Berlin guide for Friday, October 23 to Thursday, October 29, 2026.

1. Romantic Dates

Romance looks good in Berlin. Start at Rutz on Chausseestraße in Mitte — Berlin's only three-Michelin-star restaurant, where Marco Müller's 13-course "Inspirationen" menu is built on regional German produce. For something warmer, Katz Orange serves farm-to-table cooking in a lantern-lit former brewery courtyard in Mitte, famous for its slow-cooked Duroc pork and dry-aged beef brisket. Or cross to Kreuzberg for Horváth, Sebastian Frank's two-Michelin-star dining room on the Landwehr Canal, where celery gets the full fine-dining treatment.

2. Breakfast & Brunch

Start the day right. Father Carpenter pours specialty coffee in a quiet Mitte courtyard on Münzstraße — order the Turkish eggs and the Basque cheesecake. Benedict in Wilmersdorf is the all-day breakfast institution: nine kinds of Eggs Benedict, shakshuka and buttermilk pancakes until 4:30 PM. And Annelies, opposite Görlitzer Park in Kreuzberg, does buttermilk pancakes with granola and maple-berry syrup, plus scrambled eggs on sourdough with fennel kimchi.

3. Happy Hours

Smart way to do Berlin. Benedict turns into béné in the evening, with happy hour daily from 4–6 PM. Palm Beach, the tropical cocktail bar on Spandauer Straße by Alexanderplatz, pours 130 cocktails with happy hour from 7 PM to midnight. And on Brunnenstraße, Bar Milano runs an Italian aperitivo daily from 6 PM, built around the Negroni.

4. Comedy Calendar

Laughs this week — at Quatsch Comedy Club on Friedrichstraße, Die Live Show plays three times: Saturday, Oct 24 at 7:00 PM, Sunday, Oct 25 at 5:00 PM, and Thursday, Oct 29 at 8:00 PM (all in German). On Thursday, Oct 29, East Side Comedy brings The Berlin Offensive to Z-Bar on Bergstraße at 7 PM.

5. Concerts

Music this week: the Rundfunk-Sinfonieorchester Berlin plays Shostakovich's Sixth at the Philharmonie on Saturday, Oct 24, with Dima Slobodeniouk conducting and Xavier de Maistre on harp. Sarah Connor plays the Uber Arena on Sunday, Oct 25; LE SSERAFIM follow on Monday, Oct 26; and The World of Hans Zimmer – A New Dimension lands on Thursday, Oct 29.

6. Corporate Events

Convention energy: MEX – Manga & Entertainment Expo takes over Messe Berlin from Oct 23–25. WeinBerlin (Autumn) pours 900+ wines at the MOA Berlin Convention Center in Moabit on Oct 24–25. And SAP TechEd — SAP's premier technical event — takes over Messe Berlin from Oct 27–29 with keynotes, hands-on workshops and deep dives.

7. Nightlife Events

Berlin does not sleep this week. Tresor opens a 31-hour session across Tresor and Globus on Friday, Oct 23 from 11 PM, and is back with Klubnacht on Saturday from 11 PM. Berghain runs its Klubnacht on Saturday from 11:59 PM. And ://about blank hosts Marktgarden #4 in the garden on Sunday from noon.

8. Local News

The Brandenburg Gate goes LED: its regular lighting switches off from Oct 26 while 281 lights are swapped for LEDs using up to 40% less energy, with the new system due in early December. "Genghis Khan and the World of the Mongols" has opened at the James-Simon-Galerie (to Apr 18, 2027; €14). Jazzfest Berlin starts Thursday, Oct 29 — 24 acts and 130+ artists under the motto "DREAM BABY DREAM". And the Christmas market dates are set: the season opens Nov 23 at Gendarmenmarkt, Charlottenburg Palace and the Rotes Rathaus.

9. Private Dining

Spotlight on Crackers, on Friedrichstraße in Mitte. Upstairs sits one of Berlin's best group rooms: a private dining room with its own entrance, its own bathroom and dedicated service, seating 12 to 22 guests on set menus at €78–99 per person.

10. Hotel Feature

Hotel of the week: Hotel Adlon Kempinski. Berlin's grandest address stands on Pariser Platz beside the Brandenburg Gate — 307 rooms and 78 suites on Unter den Linden, the Michelin-starred Lorenz Adlon Esszimmer, afternoon tea around the lobby's elephant fountain, and the Adlon Spa by Resense. The original opened in 1907; today's Adlon reopened in 1997 and never really left the centre of Berlin life.
